Hey it’s me again! I’m Annie Rivera. Founder of The Good Sport Media, mom of 3, and recovering chronic ‘good sport about everything’ person. Don’t be fooled, I’m still a good sport about most things, but like most of us grownups I’ve found my limits. I worked in client management and sales for several large tech companies for many years. I was responsible for managing the largest athletic apparel brands in the world and helping them grow their advertising business with us. What set these roles apart from your traditional “ad man” spot, was that they were highly data driven and analytical. I became a complete freak in the excel sheets. Even as I rose through the ranks and needed to be delegating such data, I couldn’t help myself. I love putting data behind what we do. I like working smarter, not harder. Before that, I was cutting my teeth at a global advertising agency and learning my aforementioned excel grunt work skills.

Ironically, after I left my last company, I found myself having major data fatigue. I no longer wanted to live an optimized life in any regard. I just wanted to pursue what felt authentic and GOOD. I spent the next few years raising 3 kids 6 and under. Through that completely humbling experience, I began to lean even heavier into the pursuit of joy in life as control of outcomes felt less and less within my grasp. If you’re a parent - you understand that sentence. it doesn’t matter how hard you meal prepped - your kid ain’t going to eat it if they ain’t going to eat it. I remembered the very creative side of my brain that I had slowly tucked away throughout my years of education and work. I began writing, podcasting, doing comedy, and storytelling.

Then, I realized, both skills can coexist. We can put forth our authentic selves in creative ventures and have it be successful and data backed. I became passionate about helping friends with anything from logo design, to copywriting, to website work, to telling their story. I’m a staunch believer that AI is a tool, not a replacement for human discretion. I think we can do better than outsourcing everything to AI and appearing homogenous on every front. I’m here to help you find that balance.
